Things are not usually as great on the inside as they seem on the outside. The book is about passion, creativity, and drive.

Lately, when I read a book featuring a dancer or composer, I find myself craving the music being Dancer from the dance book in the prose. The themes of "Dancer" include the nature of art—an unpromisingly shopworn and solemn topic—and also the bad character of artists, an equally commonplace motif but one that seldom fails to appeal.
